Fall -- My Favorite Time of the Year and One year with a CVT

It's my favorite time of year. The crip air, the smells, warm foods, hot chocolate, hot cider, just good yummy things.  Bonfires, weiner roast, football games, good times with friends and oh the laughter.  Maybe that is what I love the most . . . the laughter.  Time spent with friends and family.

2020 for all of us has been the most interesting year. I have lived a little over one year now with a Cerebral Venous Thrombosis.  At the beginning, I was in shock but then I took it in stride. The clot has increased two times in the past year, and we found out I was resistant to the first blood thinner.  This week had another scan and the clot is still there and stable. No shrinkage, no growth.

Now, this is what I really want to share with you.  I want you to see my heart in this next paragraph or two.  I have had such peace in the past year and when I look over all the craziness of this I know where my peace comes from.  See, I know who holds the future, and who holds my future.  No one, medically speaking, are exactly certain why this blood clot is there because I don't have any clotting disorders and I am not on any hormones, which most women who have this type of blood clot.  But this is no surprise to My God!  He knew and He has me in the palm of His hand.  I walk in that assurance daily.

I have a favorite quote that I use to keep taped to my computer when I worked by an unknown author and it said "Though I know not what awaits me, nor what the future hath in store. But I know that God is faithful, for He's proved it oft before."

You see, I know God has the ultimate plan in all this and I trust His plan and walk confidently in that daily.  We all should be able to quote Jeremiah 29:11 by heart "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  But lets go on to verses 12-13 "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."   I pray that you are resting in whatever you are going through in your life that you know that plans God has for you and that you are seeking Him and resting in Him.  But first you have to Know Him!

So, it's Fall, it's time to rest, enjoy the season and enjoy the colors that God will have for us.  I'm resting in knowing that the road I've traveled hasn't been easy, but I'm still here.  The only reason I'm here today is because God was walking the road with me, every step of the way.  Why? The Lord is my Shepherd and He cares for His sheep.
