Are you Trusting the God who Provides -- Jehovah Jireh
We have been studying the life of Abraham on Monday nights. So many things I thought I knew and so many things I have just read right over.
So I want to ask some deep thought provoking questions. How is your faith? What level do you really trust God?
I know we all say on a daily basis, We trust God, or we have faith in God but do you really? I mean come on, in deep honesty. If God asked you to do something as deeply hard and personal as he did Abraham, to take your only son, Isaac, and to sacrifice him, could you trust God to send a sacrifice to replace your own son?
God moves us to deep deep places, sometimes in painful, very painful situations in our lives, where we can only trust Him and have faith in Him. And that is where we have the sweetest Worship of our lives. I don't know about you but I have been there--more than once. I could tell you story after story where He told me everything would be OK and within days, things made a drastic change in my life. I have seen God move mountains and work in ways I just would have never believed He would do for me or in the life of my family--but He promised, and He is faithful! Is He finished, no, there are other things going on but you know what, He is still teaching me to wait and trust His timing because He has Promised and I know He is Faithful.
So where are you? What is holding you back from that kind of trust? What is holding you back from that kind of faith? Do you want that kind of peace?
That is where we learn to take our Isaacs to the altar knowing God is going to send a ram! But wait, He did that already! He sent Jesus Christ to be the sacrifice for our sins. John 3:16 tells us that.
Always Trust your God who Provides -- Jehovah Jireh!
Though I know not what awaits me
nor what the future hath in store
but I know that God is faithful
for I've proved Him oft before.
